These days children
wouldn't be seen dead pedalling the kid cars their parents had.
They want the Sonic-7 - particularly because, unlike a quad bike,
Dad can't get into it.
Weaving the family car up the driveway while sitting on Dad's
lap is often the first introduction to horsepower of the non-equine
variety.
Designed exclusively for children who are 12 years or under is
the Sonic 7. Built to exacting standards, complete with its proper
seat
belts for driver and passenger- the Sonic Seven is based on the
classic lines of Colin Chapman's Lotus Seven (as driven by Patrick
McGoohan in The Prisoner).
With its 160cc Honda petrol engine the car is good for 25mph but
you can easily turn the wick down and restrict the speed for novices.
It's more at home on driveways and croquet lawns than off-road,
but it is still exceptionally stable on rugged terrain.
Lapping the refurbished Goodwood racetrack our young tester reported
that the low centre of gravity made 20mph feel like 70mph.
He was most impressed with the Sonic Seven and ready to place
his order for a machine in the definitive Lotus Seven livery of
green with a yellow nose cone.
